Piet Mondrian, responsible Pieter Cornelis Mondriaan
born March 7, 1872 in Amersfoort, Holland, d. February 1, 1944 in New York, USA) - Dutch painter, co-founder of the artistic group De Stijl (1917), considered, next to Kandinski and Malevich, as one of the precursors of abstract art.
The creator of neoplasticism - one of the earliest trends postulating geometric abstraction in painting, characterized by the use of vertical and horizontal lines which, overlapping each other, divided the planes into squares and rectangles, and the use of three primary colors (yellow, blue and red) and three so-called non-color (black, white and gray). He influenced the development of abstraction in painting and the architecture of the 20th century.
Students were doing activities following Piet Mondrian's style.
