Macocha Abyss is measured to be more than 138 m deep. It was created by fall of ceiling of a big cave. A legend says that nearby lived a family with a small boy Martin. His mother died and his father found a new wife who didn´t like him at all. One day she took him to the woods and let him go closer to the edge of the abyss. Then she pushed him there. On her way home she felt guilty which caused that she returned to the place where she let Martin and jumped there as well. In the evening Martin´s father found his son crying in the abyss. He was bruised but alive. People called the abyss Macocha, after his stepmother who can be heard there when the wind and storms are coming…
