Authentic need

At the end of a learning expedition, students share their projects with an audience. The more authentic the need, the more authentic the audience, and the more engaged students will be in the learning process. Projects that serve a real world purpose motive students differently than ones made only to show a teacher.

To identify the best audience for your project, ask:

  • Who could use the information we are learning?

  • Who could use the products we are making?

Students will be more enthusiastic to engage in a learning process that will have an impact beyond their grade.
