Mass ("the app", "we") is built privacy-first. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.
NO ACCOUNTS, NO PERSONAL DATA
Mass does not require an account, login, or sign-up, and we do not collect, store, or share any personal information about you. We do not know who you are.
DATA STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
Your scans, photos, measurement history, sessions, and settings are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to us and never leave your device, except as described below.
AI PROCESSING OF SCAN PHOTOS
When you perform a scan, the single photo for that scan is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our AI provider, Anthropic (the Claude API), solely to estimate the object's weight and identify it. The image is used only to generate your result. We do not use it to build a profile of you and we do not sell it. Anthropic processes the image under its own privacy and data-usage terms.
NO TRACKING OR ADVERTISING
Mass contains no analytics, no tracking technologies, no advertising, and no third-party marketing or social SDKs.
PERMISSIONS
Camera access is used only to photograph an item you want to weigh. Photo Library access is used only when you choose an existing photo to scan. These are used solely for scanning, on your device.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
Mass Pro subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple. We never receive or store your payment details. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings.
CHILDREN
Mass is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.
YOUR CONTROL AND DATA DELETION
Because all of your data is local, you can delete everything at any time using Reset in the app's Settings, or by deleting the app from your device.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top reflects the latest version.
