This is the first chapter of a personal role-playing campaign project.
Working on a role-playing scenario allows me to improve my storytelling and writing skills, as well as my game and level design skills (balancing enemies, rewards, maps, etc.).
Having it tested by players allows me to improve my communication and my way of conveying ideas more effectively, and to get feedback on my work so that I can make some adjustments and iterations.
Having taken part in two role-playing campaigns taking place in the same "timeline", I decided to place my story in that same ‘timeline’. Therefore, the story takes place between these two campaigns.
I chose this approach in order to practise working on already existing story, to make the previous author's work my own and to ensure that my campaign fit in and was consistent with the already established universe.
The first chapter features the first meeting between the players, who have been invited by a very strange merchant to investigate the theft of one of his wares: an ancient magic stone.
