We study composite damage models for reliable simulation of the complex fiber reinforced composite damages and investigate impact/damage/residual strength of the composite structures under various applied loads for the design and development of highly safe and reliable composite structures.
We study wave based nondestructive evaluation technique for the development of portable and safe device to detect damage and degradation of complex material and structural systems.
We study linear/nonlinear wave dynamics in phononic crystals and elastic metamaterials for controlling propagating waves to be localized/dispersed, redirect etc. Based on the wave dynamics we study how to design and develop elastic metamaterials for vibration/noise control and impact mitigation.
We also interested in tunable structures applying active materials such as shape memory alloy and polymers etc. We also interested in tunable structures applying active materials such as shape memory alloy and polymers etc.
