Lou loves sounds. She wanders through the world with her little flute, collecting them one by one : the rustle of grass, a drop of water, the creak of a door, a bird's cry, a bicycle bell, a laugh, the splash of a bare foot in a puddle. Each sound becomes a tiny note, and Lou carefully gathers them inside her flute.
There is only one problem: Bo.
Her little brother follows her everywhere. He watches her collect sounds. He watches her play. And every time Lou finally begins to turn her collection into a melody...
CLANG!
Bo crashes his cymbals. The notes fly out of the flute and scatter everywhere.
Lou is furious. She tries again. And again.
But Bo is always there, watching, waiting — and CLANG!
Determined to create the perfect melody, Lou searches for more and more sounds. She carefully chooses each note, arranging them exactly as she imagines them.
Finally, she finds the last sound she needs.
Lou takes a breath and begins to play.
For the first time, the melody is exactly as she imagined it.
Then Bo raises his cymbals.
CLANG!
Lou waits for the melody to fall apart. But it doesn't.
The cymbals land perfectly within the music.
Bo does it again.
Lou listens and suddenly she hears it : the rhythm that was missing all along.
The sound she thought was ruining her music was actually part of it.
