A Visit to the US-Mexico Border

For our mid-year retreat as a cohort, we left Mexico and returned to the US. We flew into El Paso, TX, and stayed in Las Cruces, NM, splitting our time between the two. Other than to leave and re-enter Mexico with a new tourist visa, the purpose of the trip was to learn more about the situation on the border regarding immigration and what exactly happens after a migrant crosses the border. For more info on the border retreat, check out my February newsletter.

I had never really seen the desert before, so the plane views were stunning to me.

Some pics of downtown Las Cruces

We weren't expecting snow, but it was a welcome surprise!!

We made the hour-long drive through the mountains and desert to explore White Sands National Park. It was truly so beautiful and vast. Not pictured are the sleds used to slide down the sand dunes.

More snow on the way back!! We decided to get out and enjoy it (before promptly returning to the car and its heat.)

I swear, Texas is obsessed with itself

We're BIG sweet treat girlies!!
