We face a modern biodiversity crisis, as wildlife populations, species, and genera decline at alarming rates. These dramatic drops in the number of individuals can have far-reaching implications, both within wildlife populations and in the ecosystem at large.
Generalist insectivores with high mobility and astounding genetic diversity, North American bats are a fascinating system in which to study these questions.

My interest in wildlife and genetics began with reptiles and amphibians as a young child. I received my bachelor's degree in Biology and Written Arts from Bard College, and my master's degree in Biology from Missouri State University.
I have been actively researching bats since 2022, with short forays into amphibians, reptiles, insects, and fish.
