Morse Code
Morse Code is an example of a telecommunicaiton system that uses dots and dashes to send messages.
It is designed for use over long distances and in emergencies.

HAM Radio
HAM radio is also called Amateur Radio that uses radio waves.
Amatuer Radio or HAM Radio uses radio frequency for non-commercial exchange of messages. HAM radio is also used as emergency communication.
You can even talk to Astronaunts on ISS via a HAM Radio, their call sign is:
NA1SS : November Alpha 1 Sierra Sierra
