Supply List

This is a comprehensive list of items needed for band classes(method book, supplies, and accessories). Concert Attire will be included in the band handbook and class syllabi.

Method Books

General Classroom and Instrument Supplies

Each day, every student is expected to have the following materials on their stand or at their seat when class begins.

1. Instrument with name identification tag

2. Instrument accessories (reeds, valve oil, mallets, etc.) please oil valves at home, minimal use during the day.

3. A 3 Ring Binder for BAND ONLY with clear plastic sheet protectors to store sheet music

4. Band Method Book (see above)

5. Pencil with Eraser

7. A metronome and tuner for at home practice. Two recommended options below:

   1. Tonal Energy app for phone, computer, or tablet.

   2. KORG TM-70 They also sell a seperate microphone that clips to the bell of your students instrument to only pick up their sound when tuning.

FLUTE

• Handkerchief/Bandana cleaning cloth (for inside)

OBOE*

CLARINET*/BASS CLARINET*

• Mouthpiece Cushions

• Box of Vandoren Blue Box or V12 Reeds (2.5 strength for beginners or 3 strength for Concert Band and higher)

• Reed Case

SAXOPHONE*

• Mouthpiece Patch (thin)

TRUMPET

HORN

• Tuning Slide Grease Recommended (Schilke brand)

• Holton Rotary Valve Oil

• Hand Strap

• Mouthpiece Brush

TROMBONE

• Tuning slide grease Recommended (Schilke brand)

• Trombone Slide Lubricant, not oil (Slide-O-Mix, Yamaha Slide Lubricant)

• Slide spray bottle with water

• Mouthpiece Brush/Cleaning Snake

EUPHONIUM /TUBA

• Tuning Slide Grease  Recommended (Schilke brand)

• Valve Oil Recommended- La Tromba, Hetman, Ultra-Pure Professional (Mack Brass euphoniums Blue Juice or Al Cass)

• Mouthpiece Brush/Cleaning Snake

PERCUSSION

Each student needs a practice pad, practice mallet instrument, and stick bag with Concert Snare Sticks, Bell/Xylophone Mallets, Marimba Mallets, and Timpani Mallets.

1. A Percussion Mallet/Stick Bag:

3. Practice Xylophone or Practice Marimba for at home mallet practice. Can do "Rent to Own" through Sweetwater.

4. Notes for Percussion:

• Please make sure to purchase sticks and mallets from reputable brands such as: Vic Firth, Innovative Percussion, or Malletech.

• Snare Drum sticks should not be coated or colored. Please do not purchase drum sticks with the white plastic nylon tips or Marching Drum Sticks.
