Professor Martin Boyer, Ph.D., has been a member of the Finance Department at HEC Montréal (Université de Montréal) since 1997. He holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the Université de Montréal and a Ph.D. in Insurance and Risk Management from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He was a visiting professor at the University of British Columbia, University of New South Wales, University of Toronto, Cornell University, and Universität St-Gallen. He is a former chairman of the Finance Department at HEC Montréal, a past president of the Northern Finance Association, and a past president of the American Risk and Insurance Association.

His expertise has been recognized by Quebec courts.
