Reflections

Reflections are essential in self-development because we take time to evaluate ourselves, pointing out our hidden weakness and revealing our strengths. Thus, once we know what the points of improvement are, student-teachers can gradually grow as they take necessary steps to change something in their bad habits or lackingness. Moreover, retargeting the goals and objectives they are pursuing and strengthening the resolve to be better.

Highlights of My Practice Teaching Experience

"Every teacher was once a student"

This is the beginning of my journey as an aspiring ICT teacher, a student-teacher. From what I've observed in my entire time spent in San Juan National High school, teachers play a very vital role in our society. The future of the learners and the community itself depends on the capability of the educators which is not a walk in the park. All learners have their own pace of development and teachers are tasked to tailor their needs without leaving anyone behind. With that, they must also develop their pedagogy and polish their professional and personal skills to accommodate and guide learners toward their acquisition of academic competence and excellence.

Classroom management is as important as pedagogical development
Frequent hands-on activities are essential for all TLE subjects.

Challenges Encountered

The renovation in SJNHS is a great liability in terms of the availability of classrooms. Students needed to adjust and learn in a challenging environment.
There is inadequate funding for the betterment of computer-related facilities and equipment. Teachers need to maximize what they were given to aid learners in their practical activities.
Some students misbehave in classes regardless of whether there is a teacher in front or not.
