An artist for as long as I remember, I have consistently explored the same themes. Color, paint, my immediate world, oddity, collage, detritus collecting, humor, playing cards, greeting cards, experiment, ideas. My formal art education began with a painting tutor when I was 10. I attended a progressive, ethnically diverse, co-educational boarding school that advocated human equality and dignity. I attended the San Francisco Art Institute and later Vermont Collage for a ‘self-directed’ MFA. I’ve been an artist teacher for many years, trying to recreate my learning style for my students.
