This course introduces students to organizational behaviour as a field of study that draws from various social science disciplines to understand actions, decisions, relations, and perceptions in organizational settings. Students learn key concepts and practice skills needed to succeed in the labor market and in organizations, learning how to: work in teams, analyze decision-making processes, exercise power and influence, and develop social capital and informational diverse networks. Extensive group activities, case studies, and simulation exercises equip students with foundational skills to be prepare them for undertaking core managerial activities, including developing understanding of how culture, job design, and motivational programs can be designed to help organizations achieve their goals.

The course aims to equip students with the fundamental knowledge of corporate strategy, which concerns the overall performance of a firm and the inter-relationships between all its businesses. Students learn various ways in which firms develop their businesses, acquire new ones, divest from others and create synergies with other firms and how this in turn may impact their performance, as well as more advanced topics related to current challenges for firms in today's society. Simulations, group exercises, and case studies based on real-world problems are central to the course design, allowing students to better appreciate their future activities as managers.

Teaching Assistant for Pooyan Khasabi
This course provides students with key concepts, frameworks, methods, and analysis techniques that make up the foundation of strategic thinking. Topics covered include: definition of strategy, industry and competition analysis, cost and differentiation advantages, competitive advantage based on resources and capabilities, diversification and non-market strategies. Students learn to identify drivers of firm’s performance, identify external factors influencing changes to current performance, and understand strengths and limitations of different approaches for leveraging internal resources to sustainably improve firm performance. Case studies, simulations, and group exercises are used to link theories to actual strategy making scenarios.
