On my website I'll be covering the aspects of three main topics, technology used to execute the mission, Astronaut selection, and funding. These main topics will then break down additional subtopics which will be explained more in depth. The main purpose of my website is to teach students and teachers about this significant mission that will be happening in a couple of years from now and to basically get some insights on how this will be a changing historical moment for everyone!
Mars One Mission... A one of a kind non profit organization that is currently working towards building sheltered infrastructure on Mars for Astronauts and Humans (Mars One team, n.d.).
The founders behind this extraordinary idea are Bas Lansdorp and Arno A. Wielders. They began this mission in 2011 and have an estimated date of launch as of 2026 (Fannin, 2015).

(Baker-Whitelaw, 2015)
Roughly more than 200,000 people have submitted applications towards getting a chance to live on Mars (McCormick, 2015).
The number 200,000 was later degraded to 1000 and soon to 600 (McCormick, 2015).
These people have applied from countries/continents all around the world: 39 from Americas, 16 from Asia, 31 from Europe, 7 from Africa, and 7 from Oceania (McCormick, 2015).
In 2014 there were about 50-100 people that were selected to advance to further rounds (McCormick, 2015).
It was this tough, because it was supposed to test if they were able to survive in harsh conditions and soon adapt to the environment (McCormick, 2015).
