The first run of Marrow To Thy Bones will be a try-out. What does this mean?
As we have not run this LARP before, we want to test its waters. We want to check several things, such as:
Are the characters enjoyable to play?
Do the character sheets give too little, enough or too much information?
Is the LARP playable for people who aren't familiar with the books?
How is the schedule? Does it fit, or would it be better as a 1,5 day LARP?
Do the blackbox scenes add to the game?
What would the future of this LARP look like?
As a team we are more comfortable testing this LARP and these questions in a way that stresses us out as little as possible. Therefore we have chosen to book a more affordable location and are keeping costs low in other ways as well. This way we feel it will be a more than fair price for players to experience a LARP that is still 'under construction' in a way.
As a team, we don't want to feel like this will give players expecting a high production LARP a disappointing experience. Therefore we would like to ask international players, especially those who have to travel far or make high costs to travel, to please wait until a next run of Marrow To Thy Bones. In a next run we hope to have:
Optimised the LARP, and worked out all the teething problems.
Found a more cinematic location.
Onboarded a larger team to help with a higher production.
The capability to produce more in-game materials, such as video, posters, correspondence, etc.
So please keep this in mind when signing up for the try-out, and rest assured that if the LARP is a success, we are aiming to organise more runs of higher production quality!
You can sign up for Marrow To Thy Bones via this link.
Sign-ups will close on May 8th. If there are more sign-ups than roles, we will implement a waiting list. You will receive word via e-mail on whether you have a spot in the LARP, or whether you are placed on the waiting list.
If you have a spot, you will have a month (until June 7th) to fulfill the payment for the LARP (instructions will be in the mail). If you do not complete payment by then, your spot will be passed to the first person on the waiting list.
Casting will be done soon after the payment window closes.
If for any reason you cannot come to the LARP anymore, you will need to send a cancellation email to mttblarp@gmail.com.Â
Until 24 August you will receive a full refund. From 25 August until 8 September you will receive half of your payment as a refund. As of 9 September, we cannot refund your payment.
Marrow To Thy Bones is a tiny LARP that depends on your co-creation as a player. This counts for both what you do during the game and how your character develops, as well as activities outside of the game. On-site you may be asked to help set up beforehand or clean up afterwards. Off-site, creative input and help with developing certain props or costume elements is greatly appreciated!
Currently, we are looking for people to help with the following:
creating a cool visual for Marrow To Thy Bones that we can use for promotion, a logo or banner or such.
helping create a simple video visual to be projected during blackbox scenes.
