The player's handbook contains most necessary information about the LARP.
The try-out run of Marrow To Thy Bones will be 25-27 september 2026.
The location for the try-out run will be:
De Blokhut - Jong Nederland Maasbree
Breestraat 11, Maasbree
The Netherlands
Your ticket will include:
First day: Dinner
Second day: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Third day: Breakfast.
Unlimited tea and coffee.
The meals will be simple and vegetarian.
The location has toilets and showers. We will be responsible for keeping those clean and tidy.
The location is a scouting building which should be fairly accessible. There is an accessible toilet on-site, but let us know in a timely manner if that is needed, as we need to reserve it beforehand.
To be announced.
Be aware that the game’s location could be cold, so make sure you can layer your costume.
There are three general age categories in the game. Young people will range from 18 - 30, middle-aged from 30-50, and old from 50-70.
Age is represented by a colored ribbon worn on a pin which you will receive before the game.
“She didn’t have to tell me in so many words what we both knew, that the relationship between cavalier and necromancer could so easily curdle into codependency . . . a loss of self on both sides. An obsessive fusion of halves, not two complementary forces.”
Cohort, or House, players will need to wear an undershirt in House colours and white trousers. They will receive a white military style jacket.
Second House
"Two is for discipline, headless of trial"
Colours: red and white
Third House
"Three for the gleam of a jewel or a smile"
Colours: blue and purple
Eighth House
"Eight for salvation no matter the cost"
Colours: silver and white
With your base layer and the provided military jacket, your Cohort uniform is considered complete. However, your characters are still individuals. Feel free to accessorize beyond what you’ve been provided! We recommend prioritizing your house colours within your accessories and reading up on your house to get a feel of your homeplanets specialties!
Necromancers: Consider what kind of necromancy your house specialises in. How can you bring this into your costume? Think of accessories including bones, tattoos accentuating your form of necromancy, or personal items regarding yourself and your house.
Cavaliers: Consider what battles you have fought. Are you left with scars? What do you carry as a tribute to your victories? How high do you rank, and how does that show itself? Think of military accessories like Sashes and medals, or remnants from battle, like scars or even prosthetics.
For both: General accessories can include things like gloves, belts, or capes. Feel free to accessorize with your partner as well. What is your relationship like? Do you carry matching medals, or friendship bracelets?

“THE ONLY THING OUR CIVILISATION CAN LEARN FROM YOURS IS THAT WHEN OUR BACKS ARE TO THE WALL AND OUR TOWERS ARE FALLING ALL AROUND US AND WE ARE WATCHING OURSELVES BURN
WE RARELY BECOME HEROES.”
Blood of Eden rebels will need to wear military and guerilla fighter inspired clothing.
Trousers: dark neutral (olive/green/brown/gray) trousers that you can easily move in. Cargo trousers are a great option.
Undershirt: neutral coloured (white/beige/grey/black/brown). T-shirts, tanktops or basic long-sleeved tops are good options.
Jacket: you can have a jacket of your own choice. It can be unadorned, but sprucing it up with Blood of Eden themed patches, pins or prints is encouraged.
Masks: As rebels, anonymity is one of your greatest weapons. It is mandatory for Blood of Eden players to have some kind of facemask. Anything goes here: gas mask, surgery mask, festival masks, balaclavas. You won't need to wear this on your face during the LARP, but please make it a part of your costume, such as hanging it from a belt. In addition to a mask you can also have some kind of eye covering, like goggles or sunglasses.
Accessories: We will provide some adjustable orange accessories to recognise each other by. Please use orange for your accents and accessories.
Please make sure all Blood of Eden clothing is weathered.

“What an entirely haunted time to be alive.”
Civilians can wear anything, as long as it’s not military style clothing.
As a civilian in this game, your means are low. You’ve been holding onto the same collection of clothing for a while and its main goal is keeping you warm and protected from the weather. Your clothing is practical, but yours.
Make sure your clothing isn’t too fancy and is appropriately weathered. Clothing that is threadbare, layered or patched up is a great look. However, every civilian is still an individual.
For accessories, consider that individuality. You may not have a lot, but you have something that means a lot to you. Your mothers locket? A scarf knitted by your best friend? The one shirt you own in your favorite colour? Your childhood stuffed animal? Think of what your character finds important above all else.
Keep in mind that while our setting shares similarities to our universe, your costume should set itself apart from something you could see walking down the street, whether that’s by uniquely layering or smartly weathering your clothes.
