Marriage Preparation

Marriage Course Details:

Spring Session: February – April, Retreat on the 4th Saturday of April.

Autumn Session: September – November, Retreat on the 4th Saturday of November.

Fee: $150 / Couple

A Marriage Engagement is an exciting time of Grace when the betrothed, and all people who know and love them, focus and reflect on thier pending future together! This is a time of opportunity given for them to discern what their own unique marriage will mean for them, who will support them, and what their marriage will be, and what it won't. They might more closely consider their basic beliefs about life, love, and what they value.

Our Central Deanery's Marriage Prep Program supports engaged couples who are interested in learning about a Faithful, Fruitful, Free, and Total, Sacramental Marriage under the traditions of the Catholic Faith.

Our Program uses the Beloved Program Videos as an opportunity for each of the engaged in their journey as they learn about:

  • their own identity

  • their fiance

  • marriage - what it is and what it isn't, and how to make it lasting and meaningful

  • God: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

  • the Catholic Faith

  • the Sacraments

Engaged Couples in the program are paired and journey with a Sponsor Couple under the Intentional Accompaniment Model. Sponsor Couples are typically matched by the Parish Priest and the two couples walk together in the learning. They explore the Beloved videos, prepared questions, and couple activites, to dig deeper to understand the challenges and strengths that each bring into their relationships.

The couples will meet four times to review their documented learning, and to explore questions that arise. Each meeting is about 1.5 hours. At the conclusion of the sessions, the Engaged Couple will attend a Retreat and complete an Exit Survey before receiving their Certificate of Completion.

After the Registration is reviewed they will receive confirmation and then can use the Engaged Couple Area below to access the videos, questions, and activities.
