A magnificent place to explore in Marrakesh is the Majorelle Garden. This is where you find the fertile soil with many trees and plants including palms and cactus. This garden goes back to the middle of the 20th century when the famous French painter, Jack Majorelle visited Morocco for health reasons.

The palace is located in the heart of the old medina of Marrakech and surrounded by many famous marrakchi neighbourhoods, like Riad Zitoun and El Mellah. It was built in 1880 by the minister Bahmad, and the construction of this great palace took a long time. Throughout its existence, this stunning palace used to play an important political role, because it used to be the favourite residence of Bahmad and it was the place from which he governed the Southern regions. Then his brother decided to settle in this palace, as did general Lyautey, who decided to live in it during the period of French protectorate. At that time, Ksar el Bahia or El Bahia Palace was also to be provided with innovative equipment, and equipped with new chambers for workers and officials. Nowadays, El Bahia Palace has become an open space for the tourists who want to discover the charm of Moroccan decoration.
A place that effortlessly involves you and makes you come back for more; Djemma El Fna was declared as a "Masterpiece of Heritage" by the UNESCO in 2001 for bringing history and bygone legends and stories to life. Djemma carnivals still continue to dazzle outsiders with various acts of acrobatics, musical performers, comedy nights and drama at the corner of every street. Agafay Desert
Not a lot of people know about the nearby Agafay Desert just outside Marrakech. While you won’t find the golden, rolling sand dunes here (it’s a stone desert) you absolutely can have the secluded desert experience complete with a stunning view of the High Atlas Mountains. Plus, it’s close enough to easily be a day trip from Marrakech.
Ourika Valley
Ourika Valley is a popular day-trip destination from Morocco’s tourist magnet of Marrakech. Ouzoud Waterfalls
Cascades d'Ouzoud is near Marrakesh and Azilal. One of the more dramatic waterfalls in the area, the cascades were created out of towering red rocks and lush foliage. The water runs into the valley below and the river serves as a water source for Berber villages in the area.
Ouirgane Marrakech
Ouirgane is a Berber village situated in the Atlas Mountains. It sits 1500 meters above the sea, at the heart of the Toubkal National Park and is only one hour south of the red city, Marrakesh. It is a typical Berber village. A local market or souq gathers the villagers every Thursday and plays an important role in the village’s social fabric. Donkeys are used as the main means of transportation. The village inhabitants are as welcoming as the natural environment surrounding them.
