Viktoria Steck, Ph.D.
Group Leader, Senior Scientist (she/her) - Curriculum vitae
Research interests: Mechanisms of microbial metalloproteins within oceanic nutrient cycles, metaproteomic analyses of microbial physiology and ecological interactions, coupling of marine biogeochemical element cycles through microbial processes, regulations of autotrophic marine primary production and heterotrophic microbial activity.
Fun fact or quote: My hobbies are pottery, gardening, and snorkeling. I am also writing a fantasy book.
Hanna Broxtermann, M.Sc.
Doctorate Student (she/her)
Jose Jacob, B.Sc.
Research Assistant (he/him)
Research interests: Understanding biological variation in animals through quantitative genetics and molecular approaches, including AI-driven analysis of proteomic and mitochondrial biomarkers. I am also interested in recent research projects related to metalloproteomics in oceanography and how molecular approaches can help understand biological processes in complex environments.
Fun fact or quote: I enjoy being outdoors, whether it’s a hike in the mountains or discovering a new place I’ve never been before.
Tabea von Keitz, B.Sc.
Team Assistant (she/her)
Research interests: Seawater analysis of munition residues (with Dr. Aaron Beck)
Fun fact or quote: Much to everyone's chagrin, I learned to play "Riptide" on the ukulele during a research cruise with RV METEOR (III).
This could be you!
