What is a portfolio?

This portfolio is a comprehensive meditation on my experience with core library industry competencies. The primary work-product for SJSU class: INFO 289. It is a pause between graduate school and new professional experiences intended to synthesize six years of graduate-level library training, past professional experience, and identify strengths and weaknesses.

This site contains:

• An introduction that describes my work as a San Jose State University student, the scope of this portfolio and the process of presenting it here

• Declarations of competency that examine the competency's meaning, my relationship to them and evidence that supports the declarations

• My conclusion; a statement of how this process has prepared me to serve users

• My affirmation of academic honesty and respect for student and faculty privacy

Who am I?

I am a teacher who loves literacy education. I choose to pursue librarianship because it puts me in a life-long position to serve my community and explore ideas with other people. Information is a joyous, vibrant field that I want to share with everyone.
