This Privacy Policy explains how MarketLedger ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you download, install, and use our mobile and tablet application on iOS and iPadOS.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We believe in complete transparency and data sovereignty: MarketLedger does not collect, sell, monetize, or transmit your personal or business data to external servers. Your business records remain 100% yours and reside entirely on your device.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not operate remote servers, tracking systems, or central databases. When using MarketLedger:
No Cloud Accounts or Logins: You do not need to register with an external service, create a cloud account, or provide your email address or password to use the App.
No Analytics or User Tracking: We do not integrate any third-party tracking frameworks, analytics tools, crash trackers, or advertising identifiers (IDFA).
No Continuous Location Tracking: We do not track, monitor, or log your movement or background location.
No Financial Card Credentials: We do not collect, process, or store credit card numbers, bank credentials, or payment account secrets. All entered payment details are offline ledger records for accounting purposes only.
2. Local Device Storage
All information entered into the App — including product catalogs, pricing, customer and shop profiles, sales orders, and payment records — is stored strictly locally on your device in an encrypted/sandboxed local database (SQLite).
This data never leaves your device automatically.
This data is never transmitted to any remote servers.
You maintain complete control over your business data. If you delete the App from your device without creating an offline backup, locally stored database records will be removed by the operating system.
3. Device Permissions
MarketLedger operates offline-first and requests only minimal, optional system permissions to support core field sales workflows:
Location (GPS): The App requests location access only when you explicitly tap the "Capture Current GPS Location" button while registering or updating a shop. This coordinate is saved solely within your local shop profile to help you remember the store's physical location during future sales visits. Location is never accessed in the background and is never shared externally.
Storage / Files: Used strictly when you choose to export your reports (CSV/PDF) or save order receipts to your local device files.
No Access to Intrusive Sensors: MarketLedger does not access your camera, microphone, device contacts, health data, or Bluetooth.
4. Data Sharing and Export
No Third-Party Advertising: The App contains no third-party advertisements or ad networks.
No Data Brokers: We never share, sell, or rent your business data or customer lists to any third parties, marketing platforms, or data aggregators.
User-Initiated Sharing: When you choose to share an order receipt or export a ledger summary (via WhatsApp, Messages, Email, or AirDrop), the transmission occurs solely through the native iOS share sheet initiated directly by you.
5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR Compliance)
MarketLedger is a business tool designed for commercial order booking and bookkeeping:
We comply fully with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Because we do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data from any user to external servers, we do not collect personal data from children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union).
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may periodically update our Privacy Policy to reflect future application updates or regulatory requirements. Any modifications will be updated on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
