Our main sources of inspiration came from Monopoly and the Mario Party series, particularly the earlier installments. Whilst we developed our idea, we had originally planned it to be a lot more akin to Monopoly, with a rounded board incredibly similar to it, and the idea of Event cards also came from the Chance/Community Chest cards. Of course, we moved away from that board concept over time and closer to our current one (we had 3 board concepts, as a matter of fact) and took inspiration from Mario Party, as our game already was similar in concept; just, instead of collecting general stars, it was collecting particular shopping items and making an economy/strategy out of that. Another inspiration (albeit more minor) was the shop, which partly took ideas from The Binding Of Isaac: Four Souls and how that shop was set up, where items were the same price and were rotated through as they were drawn from a deck. This ended up resulting in a game that took inspiration from these ideas and put them into a more economic context.
