Markbrook Residents Group hosted "Changing Mindset: Energy Reduction and Waste Management" workshop, on May 31, 2025. A special thank you to our esteemed presenters: Abraham Wairisal, Senior Energy Consultant with the City of Toronto, who shared valuable insights on energy efficiency in our homes and various programs available, such as the Home Energy Loan Program (HELP) and Canada Greener Homes Loan. Christina Arunasalam, Coordinator, Volunteer Management, Solid Waste Management Services, City of Toronto, for an informative session on reducing waste and the city's waste management strategies, including the 3Rs Ambassador Volunteer Program. The event was made possible through the City of Toronto's- Neighbourhood Climate Action Grant.
We also wish to express our appreciation to the Premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, MP, Etobicoke North of Ontario, John Zerucelli and other official representatives who graced our event and participated in the open floor discussion and Q/A. Your presence underscored the importance of these initiatives.
Fall in Nature - Gratitude Gathering- Fall 2023

Markbrook Residents Group hosted 'Fall in Nature Gratitude Gathering' at Rowntree Mills Park, as part of InTO the Ravines. The event was funded by Evergreen and Parkpeople. We are so very grateful to collaborate with Evergreen, Park people, Cornerstone parks and STEPS for making a difference and for exhibiting committed leadership in our neighbourhood. Special thanks to amazing photographer Jennifer Lee for capturing these happy moments.
MRG is incredibly thankful to all the facilitators for going above and beyond, the friends and family of our members and the community in large who associated together to pay intentional regards to our North Humber Park and Rowntree Mills Park on Thanksgiving weekend. We are also expressing gratitude to our community partners; Home Depot- Rexdale and Fortino- Queen Plate for supporting this event.
During this season of transition and festivity we request you to feel thankful to Mother Nature for continue to provide us clean and fresh air so, keep taking deep breaths, functional movements and spending time with your loved ones in our North Humber Park/ Rowntree Mills Park to improve the quality of life.
Move Together with Mothers- Spring 2023

Markbrook Residents Group was a successful recipient of the City of Toronto's Resident Grants Pilot-2022. Group took pride in bringing the community together to celebrate the Mother's day with a keen focus on Mother's health, staying active in the outdoors and to connect with each other despite of their nationality, language and age differences etc. Special thanks to our humble Turstee ACCT, Mentors from Ambika Yoga Kutir, Park People and the emerging MRG youth leaders (high school Ss) in making the event a huge success.
Numerous families got together and spent quality time with their mothers. The diverese community created alot of fun filled and humorous memories together while enjoying the tranquility of green spaces in the North Humber Park and Rowntree Mills Park.
