Outing Club members participated in some urban hiking by walking from the south side of campus to Poughkeepsie's Walkway Over the Hudson bridge and Franny Reese State Park! The Walkway is a popular tourist destination providing views of the river and campus from over 200 feet up. After crossing, members hiked a 3.6-mile loop in Franny Reese, the state park named after the late environmentalist and Scenic Hudson co-founder.
The Outing Club's interim faculty advisor, Dr. Kim Levering, joined us on this hike for her first trip leading the club!
Franny Reese State Park, located on a bluff above the Hudson River, holds the historic ruins of an 1800s mansion and farm land.
