Welcome, and thank you for visiting my professional portfolio.
I’m Marissa Boglin, a fourth-year PhD candidate in Composition, Rhetoric, and English at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. My research focuses on the African American family, housing discrimination, and the Harlem Renaissance. As an educator and writer, I bring a commitment to critical pedagogy, inclusive teaching, and community-engaged scholarship.
This site highlights my teaching philosophy, research interests, and recent publications, including my contribution to Mamas, Martyrs, and Jezebels from Black Lawrence Press. I am currently seeking a tenure-track position where I can continue mentoring students, producing impactful scholarship, and contributing meaningfully to a department dedicated to equity, access, and academic excellence—in both in-person and digital spaces.
