MAY

01 PIKE MINNOW BOUNTY SEASON OPENS

A grass-roots program that pays sport fishers to help eradicate the invasive pike minnow that consumes millions of young salmon and steelhead on Columbia River each year, significantly undercutting efforts to save this region's native fish population. 03-04 SKAMANIA COUNTY SPRING FEST

Unleash the joy of spring in this two-day celebration of the season at the Skamania County Fairgrounds with a hand-made crafts fair, community garage sale event, plant & garden sale, food vendors, and more. Visit their website here for details.


12 MOTHER'S DAY BRUNCH EXCURSION

Toast your favorite moms on their special day with a scrumptious buffet brunch and lazy 2-hour excursion on the river (with mimosas, of course!) on the Sternwheeler Columbia Gorge. For ticket prices and reservations, them on the web here s


18 SUMMER KICK-OFF PARTY

pFriem Family Brewers and Grassland Barbecue host a day filled with award-winning beers, barrel facility tours, mouth-watering BBQ, and live music by Jess Clemons, William Surly, and the Barroom Gospel Band. 12pm-4:30pm. 19 GCC VORTEX RACE - SERIES 1

Gorge Canoe Club hosts series 1 of the Vortex outrigger canoe races for both single, double, and group paddlers from around the world. Visit their website for details here 


30 SALUTE TO CAPTAIN TOM

A celebration honoring the life-long contributions made by our esteemed sternwheeler captain, Tom Cramblett, to the greater Cascade Locks community. 5:30pm on the Sternwheeler Columbia Gorge.

15 FESTIVAL OF NATIONS POW WOW

Celebrating the culture, heritage, and future of the Native communities on the Columbia River with music, dance, food, and hand-crafts. Visit them on Facebook here for details.

04 THUNDER ISLAND FIREWORKS DISPLAY

Celebrate the Fourth with an old-fashioned picnic in Marine Park, a friendly game of cards or cornhole with friends, your favorite beverage, and the Port's annual display of fireworks over the river at the east end of Thunder Island. 06 PONY PARTY AT THE MUSEUM

A day long celebration of the Oregon Pony and its unique place in Cascade Locks, Oregon, Columbia River, and Americn railroad history. Information and food booths, prize raffle, live music, and more! Proceeds benefit the Cascade Locks Historical Museum. Visit them on the web here for details.


06 PINTS FOR PUPS

08-13 GORGE DOWNWIND CHAMPS

Annual week-long festival of downwind paddling. Outrigger, SUP, and surfski divisions with main solo event held either Thurs, Fri, or Sat depending on best wind.  Race headquarters: Stevenson Fairgrounds with on-site vendor area,  beer garden, and limited camping. 08-31 CGRA WORKSHOPS & REGATTAS

Members of the world-class Columbia Gorge Racing Association work to improve their skills through participation in a  series of clinics and regattas on the beach at Marine Park. Visit their website here for details about dates, times, offerings, and prices.


13 YOGA + BEER

A 60 minute, all-levels class surrounded by the tranquil beuaty of nature on Thunder Island in Marine Park with a post-class gathering at the new Thunder Island refreshment facility. $23 for yoga and a pint. $17 for yoga only. Visit them on the web. here for details.


14-17 COLUMBIA GORGE BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL

Featuring live performances, workshops, dances, a beer garden, and more throughout the Skamania County Fairgrounds complex. Limited on-site camping available.  Visit their website  here for details.


18 N'CHI WANAPUM LAYOVER

Tentative date this traditional, hand-carved tribal canoe and its paddlers will layover in Marine Park as they make their way down the Columbia, out to sea, and up the coast for this year's annual gathering in Puyallup. 20 COMEDY NIGHT ON THE STERNWHEELER

A dock-side night of big laughs with comedians Susan Rice, David Kilstal, and Bo Jones. Doors open at 8:30pm, show 9pm-10:30pm with last call at 11:00pm. Tickets $20 in advance. Click  here for details.

AUGUST

04 BRIDGE OF THE GODS RUN

Half marathon and 10k runs cross the bridge from the Washington side then continue along the historic Columbia River Highway with all its breathtaking scenery and vistas. Walkers welcome.   Visit their website here for details.


14-17 SKAMANIA COUNTY FAIR & TIMBER CARNIVAL

Featuring daily livestock and horse shows, animals, 4-H fun, delicious food offerings and treats, carnival rides, a Timber Carnival, as well as an award winning Exhibit Hall. 16-18 PACIFIC CREST TRAIL DAYS

One of the largest celebrations of hiking, camping, backpacking & outdoor stewardship in the Northwest now in its 17th year at Marine Park with:
