PEP Challenge

The Promoting Electric Propulsion (PEP) Race is an innovative competition organized by the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE), aimed at advancing the development and implementation of electric propulsion technologies in maritime applications. This exciting event brings together teams from across the globe to design, build, and operate autonomous surface vehicles that leverage electric propulsion systems.

Participants are tasked with creating Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) that highlight the benefits of electric propulsion, including efficiency, sustainability, and reduced environmental impact. Teams must navigate complex courses, complete various tasks, and demonstrate their vehicles' performance in real-time, all while adhering to the principles of electric propulsion.

The PEP Race emphasizes collaboration, engineering excellence, and innovative design, pushing participants to optimize their vehicles for both performance and sustainability. By participating in this challenge, students gain invaluable experience with cutting-edge technologies, preparing them for future careers in marine engineering, robotics, and environmental innovation.
