I am Associate Professor (Profesor Titular de Universidad) of Computational Science and Artificial Intelligence at the Center for Intelligent Information Technologies and their Applications (CETINIA), the University Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid, Spain.
My scientific work relates to Artificial Intelligence and Combinatorial Optimization distributed and decentralized coordination and decision-making approaches for decentralized Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS). These are the physical systems in which software components (agents) located on networked computers, robots, sensors, vehicles, or other embedded systems coordinate their actions by exchanging information through wireless networks and Internet without any access to a shared memory. They are the prevailing software architecture on the Internet. In the long run, they are the means to sustainable design and scalability in large and complex physical systems whose components are owned by mutually different stakeholders. For more details, please visit my Research section.
I apply my research to resolving societal challenges including smart and green transport, emergency management, and multi-robot coordination.
