Initial Thoughts ... White - grey - black legions ... sound like Jedi orders ... but I don't think that's it. 

You (I) need to be cautious in automatically equating white with good and black with bad. Because where would that put Azazael 8867.100?

Kamelot ... it would be easy to assume a link to the Arthurian legends (the stories of which are larger than just the British Isles, by the way). Not to mention the JFK link.
