The Unwritten Fairytale is my final degree project in Fine Arts, for which I achieved a grade of 9. This work represents the culmination of a concept that has inspired me throughout my academic journey: the creation of an original mythological universe where humanity faces the challenge of surviving after the disappearance of the gods. The project allowed me to combine storytelling, world-building, and interactive design to explore themes of resilience and creativity in a world reshaped by mythic absence.
As part of this endeavor, I produced an artbook that showcases the world’s rich lore, visual elements, and characters. In addition, I developed a playable videogame demo that brings the universe to life, offering an immersive glimpse into its narrative and mechanics. This dual approach provided an opportunity to merge my artistic and technical skills while delivering a holistic experience of the universe I envisioned.
The greatest inspirations for this project were the timeless folktales of Hans Christian Andersen and the evocative music of Tchaikovsky. Andersen’s stories informed the narrative tone, with their mix of whimsy and charm, while Tchaikovsky’s compositions influenced the mood and rhythm of the storytelling. Together, they guided the aesthetic and emotional framework of The Unwritten Fairytale, helping me craft a world both fantastical and deeply human.
