PhD Student | University of California, Irvine
I have a BA and MA in Child Development from California State University, Los Angeles. Currently, I am a 4th year PhD student in the School of Education at UC Irvine working with Dr. Elizabeth Peña and Dr. Stephanie Reich.
My professional experiences in the field of early childhood education informed my research interests. As a preschool teacher and director in Southern California, I found interest in supporting the multilingual skills of minority and immigrant families.
Currently, my research looks at the contextual factors that support the multilingual skills of young children. My goal is to continue integrating an intersecting identities framework that looks at the assets that minority and migrant families possess and positively impact their children’s optimal development and educational success.
