My time as a student teacher has highlighted both my strengths and areas for growth related to professional learning and ethical practice. Some of my strengths in this area include engaging in professional learning experiences, such as participating in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), to better meet the needs of my students. I am proactive in seeking out and applying new strategies and techniques that enhance student learning. Additionally, I understand the expectations of the teaching profession and regularly reflect on my personal biases to ensure that I am providing an inclusive and equitable learning environment. These practices have helped me grow as an educator and better serve my students.

My time as a student teacher has highlighted both my strengths and areas for growth related to leadership and collaboration. Some of my strengths in this area include actively engaging in collaborative planning sessions with my mentor teacher and colleagues, effectively communicating and sharing innovative ideas, and fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. For example, I regularly participate in grade-level meetings where I contribute lesson plan ideas and share resources that have been effective in my classroom. I also take the initiative to organize and lead small group projects, ensuring that each team member's input is valued and incorporated. Additionally, I have facilitated professional development workshops for my peers on using new educational technologies, demonstrating my ability to lead and collaborate effectively. These experiences have helped me build strong relationships with both students and staff, creating a cohesive and productive team.

However, I recognize there are areas for growth that are important to address. I need to develop better time management skills to balance instructional planning with ongoing professional development. Additionally, I aim to improve my ability to integrate technology effectively in the classroom to support diverse learning needs. Lastly, I am working on enhancing my skills in classroom management to create a more structured and positive learning environment for all students.

I need to develop better skills in conflict resolution to effectively manage and resolve disagreements within the team. Additionally, I aim to improve my ability to delegate tasks to ensure a more balanced workload distribution and to empower others to take on leadership roles. Finally, I want to enhance my capacity for long-term strategic planning to better align our collaborative efforts with the broader goals of the school and district.
