The Sheffield Carbon Monoxide Research Group (SCORe) is part of the Air Pollution and CO group based in the School of Biosciences and Chemistry at Sheffield Hallam University, and headed by Dr Mari Herigstad. Our research is on the effect of low levels of carbon monoxide (CO) exposure on physiological function and pathophysiology development. The doses of CO we use are similar to those that people can encounter in their day-to-day life, through e.g. air pollution or smoking. Our ultimate aim is to understand how such small doses of CO affects public health.Â
