Welcome to my web page
I hold the professional title of Economist from the University of Chile and a Master’s degree in Management and Public Policy from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (UAI), Chile. I received an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, in 2015. My doctoral dissertation focused on youth unemployment and was supervised by Dr. John Knowles.
I have also completed one year-long postgraduate diploma programs at UAI: the Diploma in Business Analytics (2021), offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences (FIC), and the Diploma in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (2023), offered by the UAI Center for Learning. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence at the FIC.
I. Current Position and Research Interests
I am an Associate Professor (research track) at the Business School of Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Santiago, Chile.
My research integrates labor economics, macroeconomic dynamics, quantitative methods, and organizational behavior. My earlier work focused on youth unemployment, directed search models, and the application of structural equation modeling with longitudinal data.
More recently, my research has focused on the Economics of Subjective Well-Being, examining prosocial behavior, meaning in life, psychological needs, gratitude, and their implications for organizational performance and human flourishing. I am also developing a new research agenda on causal inference, with the aim of strengthening the methodological foundations of my empirical work.
