I am an economist at the University of Chile. I obtained a Master's in Management and Public Policy at Adolfo Ibáñez University in Chile. I received M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Southampton (England, UK, 2015) on the topic of youth unemployment, supervised by Dr. John Knowles.
I am an Associate Professor at the Business School of Adolfo Ibáñez University, Santiago, Chile. My research integrates labor economics and macroeconomic dynamics, with a focus on youth unemployment, directed search models, and the application of structural equation modeling with longitudinal data. More recently, I have concentrated on the Economics of Subjective Well-Being, examining prosocial behavior, meaning in life, psychological needs, and gratitude, and exploring their implications for organizational performance and human flourishing. I am also developing a new research agenda on causal inference, seeking to strengthen the methodological foundations of my empirical work.
Award for Academic Excellence in Business School (Adolfo Ibáñez University), during 2024, 2019, 2008, 2007, 2006, and 2005. In 2008, I received the award for the best professor at Adolfo Ibáñez University. Also, I received the 'Undergraduate Commitment and Purpose' award from the Business School in both 2023, 2024 and 2025 in recognition of my outstanding teaching skills, my commitment to the education of undergraduate students, and my outreach efforts with high school students.
