Bridging the Gaps Summer 2023 Ending Reception

08/3/2023: Erik Hernandez Catalan and the rest of the BTG 2023 cohort completed Bridging the Gaps, a USC-sponsored summer program directed by Dr. Joyce Richey is now in it's 13th year. This program sponsors summer research and clinical shadowing for students from groups historically under represented in the sciences. The Marconett lab has hosted a student from the program almost every year since the lab was founded in 2015.

Congratulations Erik! We wish you the best as your career in the biosciences advances. #FightOn!

06/30/2023: Marconett lab postdoctoral fellow Aaron Neely was invited to present at the Hastings Foundation Retreat at Huntington Gardens.


NCI R01 Grant awarded to Marconett lab for AT1-LUAD project!!!

The Marconett lab was honored to received an R01 from the National Canter Institute for their proposal studying the role of AT1 cells in lung adenocarcinoma etiology.  More info can be found here:

6/7/2023: Marconett Lab Postdoctoral Scholar Aaron Neely was invited to present our research on aloveolar epithelial type 1 cell contribution to lung adenocarcinoma at SoCal Lung day at the Geffen School of Medicine,UC San Diego.

DTG Retreat 2023!

6/02/2023: The Department of Translational Genomics held its annual retreat at Santa Monica Pier. Bicycle riding along the beach was one of many group activities.

5/24/2023: Crystal traveled to ATS International Conference in Washington DC and presented work related to the Gramd2-CreERT2 mouse model. AEC group reunion ensued with Drs. Zea Borok (UCSD), Beiyun Zhou (USC), Ya-Wen Chen (Mt. Sinai) and students!

5/11/2023: Jonathan and Bhavik presented posters as part of the annual USC Norris Cancer Research Day - while the lab took in talks and posters on a wide variety of cancer research happening here at Norris. Congrats everyone!

3/28/2023: Jonathan and Michele partnered with Nia Williams, a graphic design major at USC, who created art inspired by our research into LINC00261 function and regulation by cigarette smoke.
