September 2025. I attended the 1st IFAC Joint Conference on Computers, Cognition and Communication in Padova, Italy.
August 2025. Our paper Joint Estimation of Deception Attacks on Sensors and Actuators in Cyber-Physical Systems has been accepted for publication in the journal IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics: Systems.
August 2025. I was honored to be a keynote speaker at the XVII Simpósio Brasileiro de Automação Inteligente (SBAI) at UFSJ, where I presented “Output Feedback Control: State of the Art, Recent Advances, and Future Perspectives.” It was a special experience to return as a former student, reconnecting with colleagues and friends. 📑 Slides available here

December 2024. Our project "SAMANTHA - Safe and smArt MANufacTuring with HumAn-in-the-loop" has been approved under the CAPES-COFECUB program. It brings together researchers from UFAM, UFMG, UEA (Brazil), and UPHF/LAMIH (France).
December 2024. I attended the International Conference and Forum on Assistive Technologies for Special Needs in Kuwait, where I presented on Automatic Control & Disability: Experiences.
November 2024. Mr. Nery Uriel Ortiz Gutierrez joined our group as a PhD student, working on the topic "Robust Estimation and Control for Robotic Rehabilitation". Welcome!
October 2024. I am glad to share that I have received the Grande Prêmio de Teses 2024 da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais in the broad fields of Exact Sciences, Earth Sciences, and Engineering — a recognition similar to the CAPES award, but within UFMG. This is the most important doctoral thesis award granted by the university.
September 2024. I am pleased to share that I have been awarded the prestigious 2024 Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award in Electrical Engineering by CAPES, Brazil’s National Agency for Research and Education. My thesis was recognized as the best doctoral thesis defended in Electrical Engineering in Brazil in 2023.

April 2024. I attended the 14th United Kingdom Automatic Control Council (UKACC) International Conference on Control in Winchester, where we presented two papers.
March 2024. Our paper A new approach for dynamic output feedback control design of time-delayed nonlinear systems is accepted for publication in the European Journal of Control journal.
March 2024. We are hiring! We offer a fully-funded 3-year PhD position in collaboration with the Universitat Poliètcnica de Catalunya on the topic of Robust Estimation and Control for Robotic Rehabilitation.
