Mr. DeSantis has been the Band Director at Millville High School since 2003. Growing up in Blue Bell, PA, he has been involved in music his whole life. Attending Wissahickon High School and graduating in 1999, he was accepted into the University of Delaware (‘03) for Music Education with a concentration on clarinet. Mr. DeSantis has led the Marching Thunderbolts, since 2003, to two podium finishes at Cavalcade of Bands Championships, three Regional Championships in Tournament of Bands, and a Tournament of Bands NJ State Championship in 2023. The Marching Thunderbolts have also performed at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom parade three times. Outside of band, Mr. DeSantis served as the high school's spring musical director from 2004 with "Damn Yankees" until 2019 with the Broadway classic "Les Miserables". He is an avid Philadelphia sports and Arsenal fan and enjoys the music of the Dave Matthews Band. He lives in Millville, NJ with his wife Lauren and children Paul and Kaylee.
Jasmine Kinlaw is currently a music teacher in Cumberland County. She has been involved with the Millville Marching Band since 2014. Jasmine graduated from Millville High School in 2018 where she participated in the band for 4 years and ended her time in the band as Drum Major. After high school, Jasmine was able to continue her love for marching arts by being a part of the University of Delaware’s Marching Band for a year, then transferred and continued her education at Rowan University where she studied Clarinet under Dr. Rié Suzuki and obtained a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Music Education degree. Jasmine joined our staff in 2020 while she was pursuing her degree and has remained a part of the program ever since. Within her time as staff, she has helped the band break multiple school records and achieve multiple championship victories. Jasmine loves having the opportunity to work for her alma mater and looks forward to continuing her time with the Millville Marching Band.
Richie has been apart of the marching program since 2014, 5 years as a member and section leader of the battery and the rest as part of the instructional staff. Through his time with the marching band, as a member, he helped the band to two top 3 finishes at championships, multiple record breaking seasons, and was a participant in the 2019 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California. As a staff member, he has helped lead the band to multiple championship victories and numerous caption awards. Richie also serves as the ensemble director for MHSIP. Outside of band, Richie studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rowan University and currently works for the U.S. Navy as a computer engineer at Green Expert Technology in Philadelphia. Richie is also a local theatrical lighting designer in the South Jersey region.
Kalee is a 2018 Millville graduate who was heavily involved in the Performing Arts department. Some activities she was involved in include marching band, the spring musical, and other musical ensembles at Millville. After high school, Kalee attended Arcadia University and graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts: History degree. Kalee currently works at the Child Family Center in Millville as a preschool paraprofessional on her way to becoming a full time preschool teacher. She loves educating in all areas, especially younger demographics, but loves the variety of working with older students in music. While Kalee focuses mostly on Front Ensemble, she also assists with the battery where she was a tenor section leader during her time with the Marching Bolts. Kalee also serves as a director and instructor for school's indoor percussion program. Outside of band, Kalee love music, musical theater, and coffee!
