Welcome! I am the Professor of Quantitative Methods in Economics at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) / Brazil.
In my research, I use large administrative datasets and quasi-experimental methods to estimate the causal impacts of public policies in Brazil—covering the spatial effects of local public spending, the allocation of resources in the public health system, large-scale programs of daycare provision, and legal frameworks to reduce crime.
My work also examines how intergovernmental grants shape electoral competition, and spatial externalities from the decentralized provision of public services as health care. In related projects, I study municipal boundary changes and their implications for the supply of public goods.
