Cardinal Leader in Me Bowling Event

$500 ISEA Community Outreach Grant used to support "Leader in Me Bowling Event" in connection with Leader in Me. We are grateful to all staff, students, and families that made this possible. 

Cardinal "Night at the Theater"!

$500 ISEA Community Outreach Grant used to support "Night at the Movies" in connection with Leader in Me. Final count was 145. We are grateful to all staff, students, and families that made this possible.

JDC Legislative Breakfast Forum

The forum was held on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023.

Sen. Pam Jochum, Rep. Lindsay James, and Rep. Chuck Isenhart found time in their busy schedules to visit with ISEA members about education-related bills. Melissa Peterson, ISEA Legislative & Policy Director attended via zoom and provided updates on legislation.

The following legislators were also invited to attend:

Sen. Carrie Koelker, Sen. Dan Zumbach, Sen. Chris Cournoyer, Rep. Shannon Lundgren, Rep. Steven Bradley, Rep. Tom Determann, Rep. Norlin Mommsen, Rep. Craig Johnson.

January 2023 - Vote No on Vouchers

Student First Scholarships are vouchers for private schools and will be discussed in the Legislature. What can you do? Contact your legislators and ask them to vote No. Visit the ISEA Voucher Toolkit and find talking points and how to contact your State Legislators. (Always use your private email account.)

National Education Week - November 14-18

We celebrated our members with some delicious cookies!  Thank you to member, Kalli Bormann, for getting this cookies ordered and out to members!

November-December Festival of Trees at Ohnward.

Thank you to our team of members that helped to decorate a tree for this community event.

The Ohnward Fine Arts Center is planning their 18th Annual Festival of Trees. .

Congratulations to Kerry Rueter, Jenna Spain and the Maquoketa Education Association for being awarded TWO ISEA Community Outreach Grants!  Both wrote grants to support Leader in Me events.  MEA will use one of the grants to purchase movie tickets, popcorn, and drinks for the Leader in Me night.  The other grant will be used to help support other Leader in Me activities within the school district. Leader in Me is a program that teaches students personal management skills, self-confidence, and to value differences.

Thank you to member Kerry Reuter for putting together our basket for the basket auction held on Sunday, September 11th at 4:00PM at the High School Main Gym.
