Data and Documents

The data used to compute MAQI come from a unique, newly assembled dataset containing rich information about Italian municipalities. MAQI refers to 7,723 municipalities, for the period 2001-2022.

We have used the Istat statistical codes of territorial administrative units updated to 2023 (7,901 municipalities). 

The paper specifies the methodology employed.
