I added 3 days ago a few hostels in Havana, Cuba and do find them woiithout any problem in OSM on any Computer but still can't see them in maps.me after the actualisation of the map of Cuba. And trying with the mobile phones of friends they are not able to see them after the actualisation of the map either.some of the new added points are for example- Hostal Aissa in Havana - Casa Havana in Havana of maps me says that the actualisation is done every minute and after actualisation of the map it should be visible.Would be great if somebody can help

What are you basing the 2 week time on? In my experience updates of maps.me are few and far between, and it's more like two months between updates. That said I haven't been tracking it very closely, and may have failed to note the frequency accurately.

We have used maps.me to plan road trips, hikes & even used it to navigate when we did an independent cycle tour of Cuba. The app details all roads & trails & has enabled us to get out there & explore some real off-the-beaten-path spots.

As well as using maps.me GPS feature offline we have found it great for things like long bus journeys, checking on the map exactly how far we are from our final destination or how far we are from the next town or city.

As mentioned above, we do not rely solely on maps.me when hiking, cycling, or on any other adventure. We plan our route on it, to give us an idea of where we are going as well as what facilities we can expect to find along the way then we carry out more detailed research.

Somewhat deflated, I fiddled around somewhat aimlessly on maps.me, looking for some alternative. I saw that there was a ferry across to Regla, that would potentially cut out a lot of the distance. I could feel Rafael was growing weary of my Lenin-based questions, so I decided to head out to the ferry terminal (Terminal de Ferris) and see what I could find out for myself.

I've used maps.me in many places while offline and it works well. Pretty good maps too. Download the (ta && ta.queueForLoad ? ta.queueForLoad : function(f, g){document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', f);})(function(){ta.trackEventOnPage('postLinkInline', 'impression', 'postLinks-96281029', '');}, 'log_autolink_impression');Cuba map before you go. A handy thing to do is to search locations and addresses of places you want to visit before you get there and use "pins" to mark them on your downloaded map. Makes things very easy when you are traveling.

maps.me is great, probably better than google maps. for either, you have to go through the map download process before you can use it. you can download it in cuba once you buy wifi, but i recommend you download the app and the maps beforehand so you will be all set when you arrive.

Your description is great and agrees with others I have seen. However, I'm having a problem when I bring KML files in and I can't seem to see a solution online. I have many GPX files from various sources and often have created them on my Garmin or in Garmin Basecamp. When I export a file from Basecamp as a KML, and import it into maps.me, every turn becomes a bookmark - thus perhaps 100 of them cluttering up the route. Makes no difference if I begin with a route or a track. Suggestion?

I'm a newcomer to maps.me so very interesting article Dave, to get me going. I want to use my big iMac screen at home to tailor make a route, not necessarily the stock one provided. I have tried this in Google maps which is supposed to transfer the route to the phone app version, to then use on the road. But it didn't work; I think maybe because my iPhone 5S doesn't support that. This was the prompt for me to switch. So question is; is there a means of using maps.me on my home computer big screen, tailor an unusual route, then transfer it to my phone app ? It would be impossible to manipulate a route in this way on a small screen, for any of the navigation apps, I think.
