Manzini Youth Care UK is a small organisation, run entirely by volunteers. Most of our funds are raised through sales of home crafted items at venues such as fetes, fairs and craft sales. Apart from a very small amount spend on essential overheads, all funds raised go directly to support children and young people in Manzini.
Our aims:
1. To advance the education of disadvantaged and/or vulnerable children and young people in eSwatini
2. To promote the health and wellbeing of disadvantaged and/or vulnerable children and young people in eSwatini
3. To contribute to the relief of poverty in relation to children and young people in eSwatini
Some of our trustees visit Manzini, every year where possible, to find out in person what needs there are and the priorities on which we should focus our support. These visits are entirely funded by the trustees themselves and are a vital part of our work. These visits enable us to build relationships with colleagues in Manzini and over the years, we have established strong links with those working directly with children and young people.
Following a gaps of three years, due to the pandemic and internal issues in eSwatini, a goup of 5 trustees returned to Manzini in March 2023. They all felt like they were going home.

Although MYC is a small charity, our support can really help those who work with children and young people in and around Manzini. We have built up many friendships over the years and it is a privilege to work with colleagues in Manzini and support their projects. Being able to visit Manzini is also a privilege, and the warmth and friendliness of the people we meet is unforgettable. Thank you to everyone who supports our work.

It is an honour and also very humbling to work alongside Manzini Youth Care and those who support many vulnerable young people in eSwatini. Using our crafting skills and selling our homemade products to support those in the care of MYC has encouraged and empowered many emaSawati to achieve greater things in their lives. By sharing, we can show how much we care.

eSwatini, particularly Manzini where we focus our support, has always impressed on us the beauty of human nature. The bonds of friendship and mutual understanding have enabled a shared respect for each other. The sharing of skills and different cultural values has enhanced all of our lives in ways we could never have imagined. It is an honour to be part of a team both in the UK and in eSwatini to ensure our work is focused to support those in need.

From my very first visit to what was then called Swaziland in 2014, I was hooked. I was taken to visit schools, community projects, the charity office and so many other partners. I met so many wonderful people on this first trip and saw so much of the good work Manzini Youth Care had done. I quickly fell in love with the country and the people and since then it has become such an important part of my life. The meaningful personal and professional relationships we have developed over time have enabled Manzini Youth Care to establish effective partnerships which make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people in eSwatini.
