Congruent Communication is simple when one is authentic. That is how we were born. In our childhood, we did not smile when we did not 'Feel' like it. We expressed our displeasure - when we were not at ease. We communicated congruently. IN simple terms we expressed what we felt and what we wanted.
Then, we adapted for survival. Doing things that others wanted us to do.. to survive... to be appreciated,,
After decades of adaptive communication, we are no longer being authentic in our communication. Just think about this... How many times have you heard.. ' Well what I meant to say is.. OR You are not understanding my point... OR an email with a copy marked to so many stakeholders who are not even relevant in the subject matter..
All this kind of communication ultimately adds up to Re-Working on one's communication. Such reworking / re-sending of messages take up time. This time spent is paid by someone... mostly by the organization...
