Research Interests: Category theory, categorical algebra, non-associative algebras, Leibniz algebras, Lie theory, MV-algebras, many-valued logic, fuzzy logic.
Short bio: I was born on December 25th, 1996 in Palermo, Italy. I obtained my Master’s degree in Mathematics cum Laude in 2020 and my PhD in Mathematics and Computational Sciences in 2024 at the Università degli Studi di Palermo, Italy, under the supervision of Prof. Giuseppe Metere and Prof. Giovanni Falcone, with a thesis entitled “On the representability of actions of non-associative algebras”.
I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher (Chargé de Recherches Postdoctorant) at the Institut de Recherche en Mathématique et Physique of the Université catholique de Louvain, in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, under the supervision of Prof. Tim Van der Linden. My research project is entitled “Weak representability of actions of non-associative algebras” and is funded by the Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique – FNRS.
Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Borsista di Ricerca Postdoc) at the Dipartimento di Matematica e Informatica of the Università degli Studi di Palermo, under the supervision of Prof. Marco Elio Tabacchi, from May 2024 to June 2026. During this time I have taught “Algebra 2” for the Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics (2024), as well as “Algebra” and “Geometry” for the Bachelor’s Degrees in Computer Engineering and Biomedical Engineering (2024–2026), and “Laboratorio di Didattica dell’Algebra” in the Italian qualification program for Mathematics High Schools teachers (2025–2026).
I visited Tim Van der Linden at Université catholique de Louvain (in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025), Xabier García Martínez at Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (in 2023), Gabor P. Nágy at University of Szeged (in 2023), Alan S. Cigoli at Università degli Studi di Torino and Giuseppe Metere at Università degli Studi di Milano Statale (in 2025).
In 2024 I obtained the Italian qualification for teaching Mathematics and Physics in High Schools (Percorso di Formazione Iniziale dei Docenti 60 CFU – Classe di Concorso A027) and from September 1st, 2024, I am a permanent teacher at the Liceo Scientifico of the Istituto di Istruzione Superiore Statale “Pio La Torre” in Palermo, currently on leave for research activities at the Université catholique de Louvain.
