Adsafe is conducting a special session of Awareness Training via Zoom on Sabbath 1 February 2025 from 5pm – 7.30pm Sydney (AEDT) time. The session will focus on requirements for Pathfinder leaders and team members, and will incorporate interactive discussion on various Pathfinder scenarios including overnight camps.
This session is an alternative to completing the Awareness Training via the e-learning portal. The session is suitable for anyone wanting to complete their Adsafe Awareness Training for the first time, or to renew it. If a person is current with their Training and they attend this session, they will be given a new completion date and a further three years validity.
Registration for the session is on the Adsafe website at: Awareness Training :: Adsafe Scroll down a bit to “Live Zoom Training Sessions” and click on the blue button to register. Individuals or groups can register. Why not hold a watch party for your team? Registration closes at 5pm on Thursday 30 January 2025 and the Zoom link will be emailed on Friday 31 January to those who have registered.
Our first event coming up in a month is PLA! There are 5 different/streams running that people can choose to participate in.

PLA2 subjects - Pathfinder Administration, Pathfinder Discipline, Active Learning Methods, Pathfinder Programming, Nature Study Methods, Committees and Job Descriptions, Sabbath Camping Programming, Pathfinder Curriculum, Pathfinder Games, Knots & Lashings, and Drill & Marching.
First Aid and CPR
Master Guide: part 1
Adventurer Leadership Training (ALT)
Clubs must have at least one leader completing or who has completed PLA to ensure they meet insurance requirements. Larger clubs will need more qualified leaders.
Please note: In previous years, we have experienced a 50% dropout rate for PLA1. To address this, we kindly ask leaders to recommend participants for this course who are fully committed to completing it. Non-completion impacts not only the participant but also the conference and Avondale as a whole.
Looking ahead, we plan to encourage participants to complete PLA2 first. Upon successfully finishing PLA2, they will be eligible to enrol in PLA1 the following year.
