I, Mohammad Manirul Islam, have been working as a Lecturer of Botany in Govt. Tolaram College, Narayanganj, Bangladesh since 2015.
I completed three year B.Sc (honours) in Botany in 2000 and one year M.Sc in the same subject (thesis group) in 2002 from The Department of Botany, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. In 1992, I passed SSC(Secondary School Certificate) with star marks in the group of science. I passed HSC(Higher Secondary Certificate) with first division in the same group in 1994. During my M. Sc. program, I carried out a research work entitled “Effects of algalization (the process of application of blue-green algal culture in field as biofertilizer ) on the growth and yield of two varieties (BR-28 and Nigersail) of rice in two crops” under the guidance and supervision of Professor Z.N Tahmida Begum. The research work was done in the Phycology, Limnology and Hydrobiology Laboratory, Department of Botany, University of Dhaka. So I have adequate knowledge and experience in preparation of various kinds of microbiological media and reagents. I am able to operate all kinds of sterilizing equipments, distillation plant, steam generator and prepare media. I also studied Biochemistry, Soil Science, Biostatistics and Zoology as integrated subjects during B.Sc Honours.
I am dedicated and open-minded person. I get across to people and adjust to changes with ease. I believe that a person should work on developing their professional skills and learning new things all the time.
I have sufficient knowledge of computer operating system, MS-Office, Adobe Photoshop, Website Design, online class management.
I am a member of 'BADHAN', a voluntary blood donors' organization, the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
I am involved in cultural activities, English language club, computer club, Science Club, general knowledge quiz management and other co-curricular activities in GIMC.
I like to travel a lot.
