metro manila escapades 3:
A Starry Ride Above The City Lights
Where laughter fills the air, snow flutters like magic, and the wheel takes you to the stars.
Where laughter fills the air, snow flutters like magic, and the wheel takes you to the stars.
Star City is a carnival of joy, where laughter echoes through thrilling rides, snow flutters like
magic in the air, and a giant wheel lifts you closer to the stars.
From the moment I stepped in, the air was alive. Rides rattled and spun, the scent of hotdogs and smoothies perfumed the breeze, and bright bulbs glowed like constellations stitched into the carnival’s sky. I started with the carousel and watched the riders of the roller coasters, their colors blurring in a whirl of excitement. Everywhere I looked, people were laughing—young, old, couples, families. Star City wasn’t just a park; it was a pocket of Manila where joy lived loudly.
Then came Snow World, and stepping inside felt like entering another universe. From the tropical Manila heat, I was suddenly surrounded by icy sculptures, frosted slides, and air so cold it nipped at my skin. My breath fogged in front of me as I walked around, amazed at the sight. It was surreal, as if winter had flown thousands of miles just to visit the Philippines for the night.
But the true crown jewel was the Ferris wheel. As it rose higher, the carnival shrank beneath me into a cluster of glowing lights. Beyond, the Manila skyline stretched endlessly, buildings twinkling like stars, while Manila Bay shimmered under the moon. For those few minutes at the top, suspended between sky and earth, I felt weightless—as though the city itself had invited me to see it from the eyes of a star.
As I stepped off, the laughter, lights, and the view clung to me like stardust. Star City wasn’t just about rides; it was about capturing the wonder of being lifted above it all, even if only for a moment.
